Subjects of Study
1. General Human Anatomy including Embryology and Histology.
The student should gain the knowledge and insight into, the functional anatomy of the human head and neck, functional histology and an appreciation of the genetic basis of inheritance and disease, and the embryological development of clinically important structures. So that relevant anatomical & scientific foundations are laid down for the clinical years of the BDS course. Morphology is taught by lectures, dissections and clinical discussions.
2. General Human Physiology and Biochemistry, Nutrition and Dietics.
Human physiology aims at providing the student comprehensive knowledge of the normal functions of the organ systems of the body to facilitate an understanding of the physiological basis of health and disease
3. Dental Anatomy, Embryology and Oral Histology.
Lectures and laboratory practicals, of normal tooth morphology, tooth & oral histology, tooth-carving exercises and Dental anatomy, under-standing of the embryology with microscopic slides, microscopic and macroscopic structure, and functions of the oro-facial complex is the part of the courses of this subject.
